How I Work:
As an integrative therapist I combine a variety of psychological theories in my work and these include: Attachment Theory, CBT, Gestalt, Object-Relations, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis. My belief is that whatever theoretical approach is used, the most important aspect of our work will be the relationship we develop together. My aim is to provide warmth, empathic understanding and respect for whatever issues you choose to discuss.
I believe that what happens to us in childhood can often shape the way we think and behave as adults. Part of our work together may focus on gaining an understanding of your early years as a way of encouraging you to have compassion for yourself and to empower you to make changes in your present life situation. I work with you rather than ‘at you’, so that together we can understand your unique life experience and situation.
I also offer relationship counselling to couples who are experiencing difficulties and would like to find a more satisfying and fulfilling way of relating to each other.
